Sheena Temple

I’m Sheena Temple, proud founder, and manager of HDF. The Marine Corps brought my husband and I to Ridgecrest in 2006. I have been an ACE Certified Personal Trainer since 2010. 
I’m also a certified Silver Sneakers instructor and provide free fitness classes for Ridgecrest seniors at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital.  I have worked with a wide range of clients, ranging in age (from toddlers to 105!) as well as the ability (from fresh out of physical therapy to a Spartan Race and Marathon participants).
I can’t imagine doing anything else in the world!  I love helping people achieve a healthier, fitter version of themselves!  My passion is fitness and I love lifting, hiking, mountain biking and competing in fitness competitions. What are your goals?  Let's tackle them together!!

Parris Rice

I'm Parris and I grew up as an athlete. I played soccer for 10 years and have competitively shown horses around the nation my entire life. This gave me a career in college athletics while I was earning my degree and has also allowed me to return to college to complete a second degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. I stumbled upon personal training while I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I wanted to be able to make a positive impact on people and help others. Through my own journey with physical fitness and nutrition and finding a healthy balance, I realized that I had a love for it and went through the process of becoming an ACE Certified Trainer. Finding what type of exercise works for different people, whether one-on-one or in a group format, and connecting with them has become my passion. I'm thankful everyday that I get to wake up and do something I love!

When I'm not coaching, I love hiking, camping, showing and riding horses, coffee, cooking, and spending time with my tribe (animal and humane alike)!

I believe that treating yourself well is a sign of self-respect and taking the time to do something for yourself each day is just as important as doing things for the people we love. If we aren't our best selves, how can we give our best selves to anybody else?

My Passion ~ I stumbled into the fitness industry nearly 15 years ago and I consider it to be one of the many blessings in my life (the others being my family, friends, and my health). It is my passion to educate and encourage others to live a healthy, well balanced life by helping them achieve their full potential physically, mentally, and spiritually.

My Certifications and Trainings ~ I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a 200-hr Registered Yoga Teacher. I have held specialty certifications in Mad Dogg Athletics Spinning, TRX Group Exercise, ISCA Kickboxing, BOSU, and Kettlebell Concepts Level 1 Instructor Training.

My Philosophy ~ Take proper care of the body, mind, and spirit and they will take care of you. I believe in training the correct form of the best exercise to suit the needs and goals of each individual client thus maximizing the quality of daily living and minimizing injury.

Ruthie Giardino
Raeanne Horn

I'm Raeanne Horn and I teach Pilates and Tabata GX here at HDF. I was born and raised here in Ridgecrest and am currently raising my teenage daughter here. I love being here in Ridgecrest and part of this amazing family here at High Desert Fitness.

My journey to become an instructor started when I went with a friend to a Mat Pilates class just to try it out back in 2011. Well I fell in love with the work out and started going to help get myself back into shape. The instructor knew that she would be leaving town within a year so she and I started working together for me to learn all that I could from her and then I went and got trained in Stott Pilates down in Long Beach, CA. I am glad that I get to be a part of peoples live journey to be healthier and happier. I enjoy seeing how Pilates helps build core strength and can help build overall body strength while adding flexibility.

I decided to go to the Tabata training to add something different to my line up. I love how challenging that 30 mins is on your entire body! It is always a great class that I am incorporating functional movements into to help anyone that takes it everyday movements. It is a class that will challenge anyone at any level of fitness and I think that is what is so appealing to teaching it to me.

Nancy Keating

I have been doing yoga for 25 years. In 2001 I took a 650 hour training in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. I felt that it would give me a better understanding of how yoga helps our bodies heal. In 2002 I graduated from the program. I began offering one on one yoga therapy sessions. I opened a studio at The Center for Personal and Family Counseling, and started to teach small group classes. When the counseling center expanded I gave up my space. I have taken numerous weeklong trainings with my mentor, Angela Farmer. I resonate with the feminine form of yoga. I believe that exploring our bodies through yoga is physically empowering and the awareness and attention to our breath enables emotional regulation and centering. I have been teaching my Monday & Wednesday 8:30-10 class for five years. It is a moderately difficult class but everyone is welcome and reminded and encouraged to stay present in their own body and to never cross into pain.

Deanna Agostinacci

Hello! My name is Deanna Agostinacci. I grew up in Ridgecrest and I'm now raising a family here. My husband, Anthony, works at Golden Queen in Mojave, CA and my son, Patrick is 5 years old and starting Kindergarten this school year. We enjoy spending quality time together whether it be a movie date or getting outdoors for a hike. I love being active, lifting weights, and performing body weight movements. HIIT and Cardio are some of my favorite ways to get moving. I'm currently teaching the group fitness Tabata Bootcamp and working on getting my Personal Training Certification through ACE. I love helping others reach their goals. It's so inspiring! I'm excited for the great ways I'm growing here and looking forward to what's to come! I feel so lucky to be a part of this incredible team! ​

John Johnson

I have been an athlete all my life - this has been my lifelong challenge - what's next? Become an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, just did that, and now I'm ready to get to work!

Over the course of my 48+ years, I've been an avid hiker/backpacker, soccer, football, shot put/discus thrower, weightlifter, powerlifter, mountain biker, skier.snowboarder, and power/strength athlete. I have enjoyed the tremendous benefits from lifelong activity and want to share both my experience and expertise to help you become your absolute best - whatever that is is up to you! I have coached many youth sports and constantly been asked over the years about personal training and advising as a strength coach. Until recently I had declined as I had no certifications and only first hand experience. Now it's a different story; what can we do to help you be the you that you aspire to be? 

My philosophy is simple: do better each day. More specifically, a positive attitude, positive movement, and proper fuel/activity for the body is the foundation of continual improvement. I believe that the best thing we can di is keep moving, stay active, and help each other. I became enamored with the SportCore series at HDF years ago and want to create curriculum that will augment, inspire, and help those train to their peak performance levels. My name is Tammy Pounds. I have been part of the fitness industry since my 20’s. I am certified in yoga and Trauma sensitive yoga. Also in Barre. Which is a combination of yoga Pilates and dance. There is so much value is keeping your body strong, healthy and moving. Feeding it good nutrition but also having balance. I love helping others in their fitness journey. So thankful to do something I’m passionate about.

Tammy Pounds

My name is Miranda. I was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO, a city at the eastern foot of the Rocky Mountains. With one of the most vast mountain ranges practically in my back yard, and all the beauty and wilderness that comes with it, I grew a love for outdoor adventure; whether that be hiking 14ers, snowshoeing, camping, or kayaking, I thrived on that mountain air and active lifestyle. I have always had this love for fitness, but my passion really kicked off in the summer of 2016 when I first started pursuing weight training. Seeing what I was mentally and physically capable of lit a fire in me. I recently planted my roots here in Ridgecrest, CA in August of 2018 where I continue to take advantage of the new desert adventure. Hiking, dirt biking, and camping occupy most of my free time!

While always having a passion for fitness in my own life, I also enjoyed encouraging others to pursue their fitness goals and dreamed of making this my career. I made this dream a reality in the winter of 2019 when I completed my AFI personal training certification. I want to continue growing my love for fitness and nutrition and ultimately wants to become a health coach in order to come alongside others and help them establish and achieve their own fitness goals.

Karen Gum

My name is Karen Gum, and I was born in Watertown, New York. For most of my life traveling around the country and overseas became my life until landing here in Ridgecrest.

Obtaining my B.S. in Elementary Education, along with many minors, my teaching career began. After teaching grade school students for over 30 years, I thought my teaching career was over. Forever a teacher at heart, in 2015 a second career was started. Since doing yoga from my middle  20’s, it felt like a good fit to be able to teach yoga to others and share the many benefits it can bring to the mind, body and spirit.

My first objective was to obtain 200 hours hands-on study in Hatha Therapeutic Yoga, plus additional 40 hours of extra training in Yoga Nidra, Yoga Paced Breathing, Sound Healing for Relaxation, Yoga for Meditation, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Concepts for Understanding Back Pain.  Presently, I am engaged in 40 hours of study in Subtle Yoga and another 20 hours in The Yoga and Neuroscience Connection.

Currently I hold certificates in Music Therapy and Sound Healing, Mediation, Healthy Aging, Mindfulness and Brain Health.

Presently I am interested in the personal connections and benefits that the Silver Sneakers Program offers and am looking at getting trained for this.  I am constantly searching out new methods and philosophies in yoga, and any other educational programs that will help to keep the body moving and the brain engaged.

Presently at High Desert Fitness my yoga class deals with slow and gentle yoga for all body types, breathing, meditation,  restorative and self-care. So come join me for a slow to moderate yoga practice. As long as my body is willing and my mind is engaged, I will continue to stretch and strengthen my mind, body, spirit and would love to take you along with me.


My name is Alicia Hankins, and I am a NASM certified personal trainer pursuing a  specialization in weight loss and completing my 200 HR Registered Yoga Teacher Training. I became a certified personal trainer in the spring of 2019 and have worked with clients to achieve weight loss goals, correct muscle imbalances, and train their mind to make the conscious decision to live a healthy, happy, and fulfilled life. 

I spent the majority of my life as an athlete playing soccer and running. In 2014 I began having problems with my knees and lower back. Upon recovering from those injuries, I was shortly diagnosed with PCOS, Endometriosis, and Celiac Disease. I realized my passion for fitness in 2018 in an effort to reclaim my strength, health, and happiness. I’m a firm believer that the best physical training comes from developing the right habits of mind to foster mental and emotional wellbeing. I want to help my clients reach their fullest potential, not only in the gym, but in every aspect of life.

Brandon Temple

Hi my name is Brandon Temple. Ever since I was young, fitness and health has been a huge part of my life. My mom, Sheena Temple, has had her personal training business since I was six! Because both my parents were trainers, I grew up with a healthy lifestyle, however going into high school, I was one of the smaller kids. I began working out at 15 years old and learned essential knowledge about lifting from my dad. Without my parents, I would’ve been lost in the gym. The gym has made my life better in various ways. My goal is to help new comers in their health and fitness journey, the way my parents helped me!
